LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), or Autogas (as it is more commonly known) is a natural hydrocarbon fuel, produced as a by-product from the production of natural gas and refining crude oil. Under high pressure LPG becomes liquid and is easy to store and transport. LPG burns very cleanly and produces significantly less emissions than petrol or diesel. LPG produces 2% less C02 than petrol and almost no particulate pollutants. LPG really is an environmentally friendly fuel. LPG is the UKs most accessible alternative to petrol/diesel. Driving an LPG vehicle is greener, safer, simpler and best of all, much cheaper than driving an equivalent petrol or diesel model. Of the three fuels, LPG has the best environmental record - independent tests.
