About the Business
In 1998 with the help of a loan of £2000 from The Prince's Trust, Cory Smith set up Cory's Car Repairs. He used the money to buy a van, tools, clothing, insurance and a mobile phone. Then he went out in the van offering a mobile car repair service. Full of enthusiasm and passion for what he did, Cory worked hard and his customer base grew. After 18 months he rented a small workshop on a farm where he could fit two vehicles in and took on Robin as a part-time employee.
In 2003, with a solid base of happy, faithful customers the business moved into unit 17 Arches Lane Business Centre. In 2006 Cory first bought unit 17 and then unit 16 next door, enabling him to expand the business and open Cory's Tyres. In 2009 Gavin joined the team working full-time. Robin continues to work for Cory part-time. During 2010 Cory's Car Repairs has grown again with both Paul and Brian joining the team.
