Absolute cowboys. I didn’t want my car taken to this garage however as I was being recovered by AA I had to use an approved garage (what they are approved in is a mystery). I needed quick repairs due to being self-employed and relying on my car heavily. The technician rang with the issue, a snapped auxiliary belt and oil leak and they said they could have the work completed by the end of the week. That was the first lie!! They only looked at it on Friday!!!
Quote sent over initial £35.00 plus £275.41 just to look at the car! Agreed as I was desperate! Came back on Monday work required an auxiliary belt 87.50 but they recommended timing belt replacement. Clarified with AA who confirmed only recommended due to mileage. As garage never answer the phone. I have a record of 87 unanswered calls! Agreed to work as the car was approaching 62,000 miles £711.76. We are now two weeks in!!!
Called as week 4 was approaching for an update car will be ready the following Tuesday at the latest very annoyed but finally reached the finish line. Tuesday I received a call from AA work is complete car is ready to collect! It was 4.30 so called the garage 18 times to see if they would wait for me to arrive no response so I left it till the following day! Call at 8AM from a clueless advisor at the garage to say they needed a little longer for more checks (these were apparently already completed according to a report)! Agreed but asked for an update ASAP! Gets a text at 11am car is ready to collect!
Great, make my way there to collect it! The advisor on the desk who had absolutely no idea what he was talking about asks am I recovering the car! Why would I need to do that? Apparently all of a sudden it needs a new engine (in 5 weeks absolutely no mention of any engine issues) this is the engine that the garage removed from the car to carry out an investigation apparently, but there was no issue at that time. A rude obnoxious gentleman comes to the waiting area, claiming managerial status, if true I advise a simple customer service course because his manner and attitude were appalling!
He couldn’t explain and just continued to claim that’s how it arrived, which is utter nonsense as the car was driven onto a recovery truck! Asked AA to investigate, (do not ever purchase smart care) for two weeks they told me the garage was at fault, garage agreed to refund work done (or not) and i needed to pick up the car! AA decide as I have a refund I should be happy, oh I’m ecstatic that a garage hasn’t completed work but has destroyed my car!
It won’t be left there. If you value your car I would advise you to avoid this place like the plague!
How this company is still trading is beyond me. They are the worst garage for ripping people off. Their work is shoddy if done at all. They want money up front I was taken for a lot of money. The guy knew I had 2 friends plus my sister had died and taken advantage of me at a low time, do not use this garage. Read all the reviews and take note hopefully his morals will backfire on him.
I wish I had read the reviews before I used this company. Took my money and didn't complete the job. Now they just blank the phone and can't get my money back.
Fastlane Autocare 07943 185471. Do not trust these people they will rip you off you will pay upfront and they will not do the work as promised. They are a rip off merchants. I phoned them as a local garage in Manchester and they are in St Helens but they don’t tell you that. They will come out look at the problem but will not repair it they will tell you the office will quote you the cost but will not. They do not give you a receipt or email you and don’t answer the phone when they know your number. Do not trust them they are rip off merchants!
WASTE OF GOOD MONEY. The worst experience we could have. We booked a pre-purchase inspection with Fastlane for a Motorhome. We pay as requested in advance, and were told we will get the report on the same day, on average within 2 hours of the inspection. This suited us, as we had put a deposit on the vehicle to be able to visit it (due to covid rules) and had to make a decision fairly quickly to recover the deposit even if the price was much higher than the other company which we had considered. The inspection was booked for the 31st March. We didn't receive anything from them on the day and started calling on the following morning. We chased over the phone and we were told we will get the report asap, which never happened. 6 weeks later we have never received a report. We have chased over the phone, we have been hung up. We have sent emails, completely ignored. We succeeded to get a reply via Facebook, reconfirmed our emails, chased for the report or our money back and there again we got the most unfriendly attitude; eventually, they blocked us out. The manager would not even give his name. We paid £595 for an extensive written report on the vehicle and not for them to have a test drive. We are now taking the company to court.
The worst service ever was booked in for cylinder head repair £1000 on 10th Nov phone repeatedly to get updates was always told waiting for parts. Got the van back 23 Dec with a wing mirror from another vehicle jammed in the engine bay, smoking worse than it went in and leaking coolant into the cylinders and oil everywhere and a fuel injector zip-tied in place. Returned the van on the 27th a week later I was told the cylinder head was cracked and they wanted another 3500. Got the van back and again fuel injector zip-tied and the engine cover missing. Sent them back with it came back again leaking oil told me it was turbo 1400 quid. Came back a week later engine light on returned it a week later picked it up got as far as the petrol station and engine light back on. Took it back fitted another new turbo under Warranty and again the same well 3rd time lucky got it back beginning of March. Even now it's still not right I went back today because it's still leaking oil and he just said it was fine when it went. Bring it in next week and we will have a quick look OK. Sorry mate after spending 6 grand at your place and a lot of lost time and work I give up and with that said I will be recommending absolutely any garage apart from these.
